Long-Term Care Ombudsmen volunteers spend four or more hours each week visiting with residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family homes, working to ensure good care is provided and residents? rights are respected. Ombudsmen may also investigate and resolve concerns on behalf of residents, work with residents? family, friends and facility staff to meet the needs of residents, provide public education about long-term care facilities and regulations. Volunteers are especially needed in Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo and Silverdale. A minimum of a one-year commitment is recommended. Training is provided.
