Gallery Docent volunteers continually rotate through both floors of our museum, supervising and interpreting exhibitions while engaging guests in active and meaningful art conversations. This role serves as an arts ambassador, directly coordinating with and supporting the Gallery and Volunteer Manager, as well as Curatorial Associates and the Curatorial Department. Growth opportunities include the ability to interact with and demonstrate select artworks, to lead group tours and to assist the Curatorial Department and BIMA Staff with other museum-related tasks, projects or events. Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) preferred. You do not have to live on island nor have an arts background -- just possess a love of the arts, love to talk with people and love learning. We will teach you how to share with visitors the diversity of artists and forms of creativity endemic to our region.
