Who We Are

Peninsula Services is a non-profit agency with the Mission to provide quality job training and community employment opportunities to adults with disabilities in Kitsap County. We have 50 years of experience. Since our start in 1971 we have gone through many changes but always with the focus on persons with significant disabilities.

At our center is Vocational Services for persons with disabilities that range from training, job readiness, resume assistance, assessments and job placement in individual community jobs. We also offer job retention services once that job is attained. We want to make sure our clients do well and both enjoy their job and succeed.

Our other programs help fund our mission: All Shred document destruction services; Servmart stores in Bremerton and on Whidbey Island that sell AbilityOne products to our service-people locally and deployed around the globe; our Grounds Maintenance crews provide quality service to Navy Base Kitsap, The Navy Hospital and other sites; Commissary Teams do both Shelf-Stocking and Janitorial duties at the base Commissaries.  At all of these sites we also fulfill our mission by hiring persons with disabilities. Our direct labor consists of 74% employees with a wide range of significant disabilities.

What We Do

Our Mission: To provide job training and community employment opportunities to adults with disabilities.  All of our programs and services are focused on this one goal.

EMPOWERMENT THROUGH EMPLOYMENT

If you would like to take advantage of our Vocational services you must be referred through DVR, DSHS/DDA and DSB. These organizations will pay for all services. They are FREE to the participant. We work with you to find a job in the community that suits your needs and talents, even creating a job for you. Our community partners include Safeway, Taco Bell, Spiro's Pizza, local veterinarians, Fred Meyer and many more employers throughout Kitsap County.

During this time of concern with the Covid pandemic our staff take all requirements for your safety seriously. Some in-person services are now conducted virtually or if that isn't possible, socially distanced. Masks and other PPE are worn and we distribute them to clients without access to them. Our innovations during this time have won accolades from State and County partners and we are adapting to the changing world.

Jobs=Confidence, Independence, Inclusion in the community, a better life! Everyone deserves that.
