Who We Are
Our mission is to provide meals, nutrition, and support services to improve the health and quality of life for seniors and others with hunger and health needs in Kitsap County. Primary services include:
* Providing healthy, nutritious pre-packaged frozen meals for curbside pick-up at five community meal sites.
* Delivering nutritious prepared frozen meals, safety checks and friendly visits to medically-homebound elderly.
* Telephoning homebound senior clients to help reduce social isolation.
* Offering nutrition education and dietary counseling to all senior clients of record.
* Distributing shelf stable emergency meals to homebound senior clients for use during inclement weather.
* Coordinating the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program each summer for low-income seniors.
Volunteers are the backbone of Meals on Wheels Kitsap and critically important to our success. They're involved at all levels—from serving meals at dining sites and delivering meals and fresh summer produce bags to the medically-homebound to providing Board leadership and governance and working on office projects and special event fundraisers.
