Kitsap Mental Health Services

Who We Are

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is a private, not-for-profit community mental health center that provides both mental health and behavioral health care services to children, families, adults and seniors in Kitsap County. Through comprehensive inpatient and outpatient programs, individualized and tailored care is provided to individuals affected by mental illness. Services are designed to help consumers function as independently as possible. This includes linking consumers with natural supports in the community.

What We Do

Kitsap Mental Health Services' mission is to shape the future of mental health through state-of-the-science service delivery, community partnerships and advocacy. Kitsap Mental Health Services was created by the Kitsap County Commissioners in 1978 to develop a comprehensive mental health service delivery system, and has been providing emergency, outpatient, residential and inpatient services to chronically and seriously mentally ill children, families, adults and older adults since that time. While KMHS started out as an outpatient family clinic, its focus quickly changed to the development of a broad range of effective and cost-efficient services for the most severely mentally ill residents of Kitsap County, with the ultimate goal of recovery. KMHS currently provides services to over 5,000 individuals each year. Learn more about KMHS on our website: www.kitsapmentalhealth.org
