Who We Are

GFWC Kitsap Peninsula is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) a community service organization that supports the arts, preserves natural resources, promotes education, encourages healthy lifestyles, stresses civic involvement, and works towards world peace and understanding. GFWC Kitsap Peninsula meets the 3rd Thursday each month, September through June. Currently we are meeting at the Subway Restaurant on Kitsap Way in West Bremerton at 6 pm. All women are welcome to come to meetings where we plan our projects and have speakers.

What We Do

General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) Kitsap Peninsula is dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. GFWC Kitsap Peninsula has been serving Kitsap County for over 60 years. First as GFWC Bremerton Junior Women and then 20 years ago the name was changed to GFWC Kitsap Peninsula as our members are from all around the county. We have worked with Bremerton Community Theatre, Kitsap Peninsula Dance Theatre, and Evergreen Children's Theatre. We have worked with various schools in the county and on the state level offer a scholarship. We support the A.L.I.V.E. Shelter with Christmas stocking for the children and donated "Smooth Move Tubs" for the women in transition from the shelter. We make "Comfort Pillows" for women with breast cancer. We have been involved with the Chico Salmon Park.  We have made dolls for the Children of the Nations. We are donating clothing to the veterans at Retsil. We make monthly donations to local food banks.
