Who We Are

EADS provides relief to caregivers by offering a day health program for seniors and disabled adults age 18-100+ who have chronic medical conditions. We offer collaborative care, providing an active community of individuals unified in improving the participant's and caregiver's health and well-being.

Each year hundreds of individuals and their caregivers benefit from the structured activities, health and rehabilitation programs, and socialization offered by EADS. These cost-effective, quality programs not only support families who choose to care for someone in a home setting, they also help both the participant and their caregiver(s) maintain optimum health and functional independence. Participants' home settings can include their own private residence, living with family members or residing in an adult family home or assisted living facility.

What We Do

EADS provides day health and family giver support services at centers located in two King county cities (Bellevue and Des Moines) and one city in Kitsap county (Bremerton). These centers provide 20,000 days of services to over 250 unduplicated clients annually. In addition, approximately 50 family caregivers annually receive support services such as training and individual counseling.

EADS caregiver support services include individual counseling, training, respite care and advocacy.

EADS day health services include skilled nursing, occupational therapy and recreational and social therapies.

  • The skilled nursing includes wound care, tube feedings, medication management, case management and other vital medical services.

  • The occupational and functional therapies help people live independently by increasing strength and maintaining range of motion.
  • The recreational and social therapies help participants build and maintain meaningful relationships with their peers, their families and people in their communities.

Three primary populations are served by EADS day health programs:

  • 60% of our participants are adults with developmental disabilities; many of these adults are profoundly impacted with complex medical, physical and emotional needs.
  • 35% are seniors with age-related disabilities, primarily dementia.
  • 5% are adults with other acquired disabilities such as traumatic brain injuries.

EADS King County is a certified VA provider, so this mix includes both veterans and their dependents.

EADS’ mission is to help adults with disabilities improve their quality of life by means of two primary strategies:

1. Increasing their engagement with their families, their communities and the world by:

  • Identifying and exploring interests, skills, and abilities that present opportunities for engagement
  • Maintaining or increasing strength, balance and range of motion
  • Minimizing the physical and emotional impacts of illnesses or injuries
  • Mitigating or extinguishing isolating behaviors
  • Helping them remain in their homes
