Volunteer: Citizens On PatrolCOP volunteers represent the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office and interact with the community. Their duties are to educate the public concerning parking laws for persons with disabilities, conduct home vacation checks and to be the eyes and ears of law enforcement. Are you interested in helping neighbors and making your community safer? Are you willing to donate at least 16 hours a month to COP volunteer service? Are you a team player who works well with others? If so, you may be one of the citizens we are looking for. COP volunteers patrol in all of unincorporated Kitsap County.

Volunteer crews are involved in parks throughout the county and commitment can range from joining a one-day work party to being a part of park inventory projects, mapping and county-wide trail planning.

Ombudsmen may also investigate and resolve concerns on behalf of residents, work with residents? family, friends and facility staff to meet the needs of residents, provide public education about long-term care facilities and regulations. Volunteers are especially needed in Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo and Silverdale. A minimum of a one-year commitment is recommended. Training is provided.
