Who We Are

Housing Kitsap is an organization dedicated to the creation of affordable housing opportunities. We are primarily involved in the administration of various federal housing programs, low rent Public Housing and a federally funded Self-Help Housing Program. Housing Kitsap also seeks to strengthen families by providing after school tutorial support in our Homework Clubs and linking families to essential supportive services. We have both a teen and summer program that creates many mentoring opportunities to students as they learn about finding jobs, going to college or becoming engaged with their community through service projects.

What We Do

Housing Kitsap's mission (formerly known as Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority) is to foster healthy housing communities by building and preserving safe, decent and affordable housing for our clients, while ensuring the fiscal integrity in all programs administered by the housing authority. We achieve this mission by treating our residents and clients with dignity and respect, fostering teamwork within the agency, providing high-quality services in a cost effective manner, and developing effective partnerships within our community. KCCHA was created in 1982 and became the first joint city-county housing authority in the state. The Authority's area of operation includes all of Kitsap County, except the City of Bremerton. Our Board members include the three Kitsap County Commissioners and the Mayors of Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island and Port Orchard.
