Seeds of Grace would love your help with keeping up existing gardens. We have several local gardens all over Kitsap County and would like to see teams at all of them. We will be weeding beds, watering, mowing and weedeating where necessary, mulching and harvesting produce for delivery to the needy. Our day length will only go until around 2 PM at the latest for any job.
Let me tell you a little about Seeds of Grace: We started building gardens in Mexico in April of 2014, then locally in Kitsap County the following June. Since then, we have built 10 gardens locally and 2 in Mexico. Several of our local gardens are located in schools where they double as classrooms. All the food from our gardens goes to feed the hungry through soup kitchens, food banks, backpack programs as well as other programs benefitting seniors, youth, children and so many others in our community who do without. The gardens are built, maintained and harvested by volunteers. Over the last 2-1/2 years, hundreds of people have enjoyed fresh fruits and vegetables from our gardens. Seeds of Grace has been a 501c3 since November 7, 2014.
We are ever-grateful for your time and energy as we work together to fill the gaps that exist between the food that is donated to those who distribute it to the needy, and the nutritional density of that food. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!
